Readiness Monitors and Test Results

    There are 11 pre-defined categories of Readiness Monitors that may take place in your vehicle. 

Readiness Monitor Categories:

• Misfire monitoring
• Fuel system monitoring
• Comprehensive component monitoring
• Catalyst monitoring
• Heated Catalyst monitoring
• Evaporative System monitoring
• Secondary Air System monitoring
• A/C System monitoring

    We list over 500 manufacturer specific Readiness Monitor Test Result descriptions so you get the information you need faster.  For each Readiness Monitor, there can be several tests which must all pass in order for the Readiness Monitor to pass.

 For example, GM defines up to 39 tests that determine if the Oxygen Sensor Monitor passes or fails.  Here's just a sample:

• Rich to lean sensor threshold voltage
• Lean to rich sensor threshold voltage
• Low sensor voltage for switch time calculation
• High sensor voltage for switch time calculation
• Rich to lean sensor switch time
• Lean to rich sensor switch time
• Rich to lean switches
• Lean to rich switches
• R/ L response to L/ R response ratio
• Post catalyst sensor open test
• Post catalyst sensor rich tests
• Post catalyst sensor lean tests
• Difference between R/ L response and L/ R response
• Low sensor voltage for half period time calculation
• High sensor voltage for half period time calculation
• Rich to lean half period time
• Lean to rich half period time
• Sum of R/ L and L/ R half period times
