Up to 64 Trouble Codes can be active in a vehicle at one time. When one or more emission related trouble codes are active, the Check Engine Light (also called the Malfunction Indicator Lamp or MIL) will turn on. Pending trouble codes indicate problems that have not yet caused a full active trouble code.
The OBD-II Diagnostic Scanner will read both active and pending trouble codes. We list over 5000 manufacturer specific trouble code definitions. All generic trouble code definitions are present as well. These definitions will display when the codes are read. If no definition is available, the trouble code itself will display but no definition will be present.
Freeze frame data is a snapshot of the live sensor data at the time an active trouble code is set and will be displayed at the bottom of the trouble code screen. Frame $00 is the only frame mandated to be present but some manufactures use multiple frames when multiple trouble codes were triggered at different times. We support accessing frames $00 to $FF.
